This programme is designed to provide intergenerational whānau with opportunities to improve regular physical activity and increase their knowledge of healthy eating. We provide education sessions, healthy but yum cooking classes, mara kai and physical activity programmes.

Ngā Kākano sponsors rangatahi/young people from Tapuika to take part in the Wai Warriors programme, a programme for young people to learn more about themselves, develop resilience, team work ethic utilising the modality of traditional waka and navigation. The availability of this programme is subject to funding.


Whānau Direct assists whānau to access financial resources when it matters most to whānau, with the intention of making a positive difference for whānau. Whānau Direct offers up to $1,000 for whānau to achieve positive outcomes such as becoming self-managing, living healthy lifestyles and being financially secure.
This service is available via Ngā Mataapuna Oranga and is subject to availability of funding.

Early intervention and prevention mental health services is recovery oriented, community based whānau approach to assessment, treatment and therapy for those experiencing mental health issues. Specific needs may be complex and include co-existing illness or issues and may require brief interventions for relapse and follow up.  This service is accessible and available for all members of the whānau inclusive of pēpi, tamariki, taiohi, pākeke and kaumātua.
